Introduction

Welcome to Recap.Studio! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Recap.Studio application and website.

By using our Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.

The Service

Recap.Studio is a macOS application for creating professional screen recordings with automatic zoom effects, click highlights, keyboard overlays, custom backgrounds, and export to MP4 or GIF.

Free and Pro Versions

Free Version

The free version includes all recording and editing features:

• Screen, webcam, and audio recording
• Auto zoom and click effects
• 8 cursor styles and keyboard overlay
• Timeline editing and speed control
• Backgrounds and framing

The free version does not include export functionality.

Pro Version

The Pro version ($50 one-time payment) includes everything in Free, plus:

• MP4 export up to 4K at 60fps
• GIF export up to 720p
• 4 quality presets
• Lifetime updates

License Terms

When you purchase Recap.Studio Pro, you receive a perpetual license to use the software. This license is:

• Lifetime: Valid forever, including future updates
• Personal: For your individual use
• Multi-device: Activate on up to 3 devices
• Non-transferable: Cannot be resold or transferred to others

Purchases and Payments

• Payments are processed securely through LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record
• Price is $50 USD (one-time payment)
• All purchases are subject to our Refund Policy

Device Activation

• Each Pro license can be activated on up to 3 devices
• You can deactivate devices from within the app to free up slots
• License validation requires internet connection every 7 days (30-day offline grace period)

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer or decompile the software
• Redistribute or resell the software
• Share your license key with others
• Use the software for illegal purposes
• Circumvent the licensing system

Intellectual Property

Recap.Studio and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

Your Content

• You retain all rights to recordings you create
• We do not access, store, or claim any rights to your content
• Your recordings remain entirely on your device

Disclaimer

The Service is provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your license for violations of these Terms, including but not limited to sharing your license key or attempting to circumvent the licensing system.
